Contract: Temp to Perm (Full-Time)

This school is looking for an Art Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract. The Ideal Candidate:

Curriculum Planning and Development:
Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging Art curriculum that aligns with educational standards and objectives.
Create lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities within the classroom.

Classroom Instruction:
Deliver inspiring and creative Art lessons to secondary school students across KS3 and KS4.
Utilise a variety of techniques, materials, and technologies to enhance student creativity and engagement.
Encourage experimentation, critical thinking, and the development of technical skills.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes artistic confidence and collaboration.

Assessment and Evaluation:
Assess and evaluate student progress through coursework, practical projects, and written components where appropriate.
Provide constructive feedback to support students in refining their skills and developing their portfolios.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and achievement.

Differentiation and Individualised Instruction:
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying artistic abilities and learning styles.
Provide additional support or stretch and challenge to ensure all students reach their creative potential.

Parent and Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and achievements.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student development and address any concerns.

Professional Development:
Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in Art education.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.

Requirements:

Bachelorandrsquo;s degree in Art, Fine Art, Art Education, or a related field (Masterandrsquo;s degree is a plus).
Teaching certification or license in secondary education with a focus on Art.
Proven experience teaching Art at secondary school level.
Strong knowledge of a range of artistic techniques, media, and art history.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Passion for fostering creativity within a positive and supportive learning environment.
Enhanced DBS Certificate.
