Benjamin Grace are recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering and rail infrastructure contractor for a Bid Manager / Senior Bid Manager to join the South Region Pre-Contracts team.
This Bid Manager role is a key position within the work-winning function, supporting strategic growth across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.
The successful Bid Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping bid strategy, leading high-quality tender submissions, and driving consistent improvements in work-winning performance. This is ideal for a commercially aware and detail-focused professional with strong experience in rail or civil engineering environments.
Bid Manager / Senior Bid Manager andndash; Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage bid submissions from early opportunity stage through to final tender submissionandnbsp;

Coordinate inputs from estimating, commercial, planning and delivery teamsandnbsp;

Develop high-quality PQQ and tender responses ensuring compliance and clarity as a Bid Manager

Write, edit and review technical and commercial submissionandnbsp;

Chair tender progress meetings and manage submission programmes and deadlinesandnbsp;

Work closely with Regional Directors and senior stakeholders to identify and pursue new opportunities as a Bid Manager

Analyse client feedback and support continuous improvement of bid processesandnbsp;

Contribute to post-tender reviews and lessons learned activityandnbsp;

Support development of work-winning tools, templates and best practiceandnbsp;
Bid Manager andndash; About You

Proven experience as a Bid Manager or Senior Bid Manager within rail or civil engineering

Strong understanding of civil engineering projects and delivery environments

Excellent written, editing and presentation skills

Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines under pressure

Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills

Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent)
