Job Details

Class 1 driver who is experienced in Transport plant machinery, abnormal and wide loads across the UK. Follow strict pre-approved routes and movement orders. MUST have strict understanding of route restrictions of bridge heights and limits. Load and unload machinery safely following procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed lorries, across designated routes
• Load and unload goods with care, ensuring securement of cargo during transit
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
• Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies during deliveries
• Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries and pick-ups
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate schedules
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 driving licence with a clean driving record
• Proven experience with low loaders/plant transport
• Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations preferred
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently
• Ability to work independently and responsibly under pressure
• Good communication skills and professional attitude
• Physically fit
