CNC Machinist - Lichfield | -16.00 - -18.00 per hour - w/ shift premium up to 35%

A specialist precision engineering manufacturer is expanding it's Midlands operation and is looking to hire an experienced CNC Machinist to join their growing team.

This CNC Machinist role sits within a high-spec tool grinding environment, working on 5 axis CNC machines producing precision carbide cutting tools for industries such as aerospace, medical, and motor sport.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CNC Machinist looking to develop their skills in a more specialist area, with clear progression and strong earning potential through shift premiums.

What you'll be doing as a CNC Machinist

• Working as a CNC Machinist setting and operating 5 axis CNC machines
• Producing precision carbide tools to tight tolerances
• Working with advanced grinding machinery including Walter and Rollomatic
• Carrying out inspection using appropriate measuring equipment
• Monitoring machine performance and resolving issues
• Supporting operators with technical queries and setup guidance

Essential skills needed from the CNC Machinist:

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in a precision engineering environment
• Experience setting and operating CNC machines independently
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Desirable skills needed from the CNC Machinist:

• Experience within a CNC tool grinding environment
• Exposure to machines such as Walter, Rollomatic or similar
• Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification.
