CNC Setter Operator

Job Description
CNC Setter Operator (Milling)
Location: Rotherham (S60).
Salary: andpound;17.61 to andpound;18.64 per hour (circa andpound;36,600 to andpound;38,800 per year).
Contract: Full-time, permanent.
Shifts: Choice of rotating patterns:
Monday to Friday rotating shifts (6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm, 10pm to 6am)
OR a 4-day working week Monday to Thursday (days or nights) giving you a long weekend every week.

Up to andpound;18.64 per hour, full-time earnings, and the option of a 4-day week with a long weekend every week.

A lot of CNC roles end up being either pure operating or constant problem solving because things arenandrsquo;t set right in the first place.

This isnandrsquo;t that.

Youandrsquo;ll be working in a structured environment where the expectation is clear. Set the job correctly, monitor it properly, and produce quality parts consistently.

Youandrsquo;ll be joining a large manufacturing site in Rotherham producing components for sectors including defence, rail and heavy engineering. The machines are modern, the work is consistent, and youandrsquo;re not there to firefight issues all shift.

The shift pattern gives you flexibility depending on how you prefer to work, whether thatandrsquo;s a standard 5-day pattern or a condensed 4-day week.

Both patterns give you full-time hours, with the 4-day option meaning fewer working days without reducing your earnings.

What the role looks like day to day:
Youandrsquo;ll be working on CNC milling machines, setting and running jobs, making adjustments where needed and making sure output stays consistent throughout the shift.

What you will be doing:
  • Setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Editing programmes where required.
  • Loading materials and setting tooling correctly.
  • Monitoring performance and making adjustments.
  • Inspecting parts to ensure they meet tolerances.
  • Using measuring equipment to check accuracy.
  • Troubleshooting issues during production.
  • Keeping machines running safely and efficiently.
What they are looking for:
  • Experience as a CNC Setter Operator or CNC Machinist.
  • Experience working with Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Confidence using measuring equipment.
  • A practical, problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail.
This role suits someone who understands machining and takes ownership of their work. If youandrsquo;re looking for purely operating work, it wonandrsquo;t be the right fit.

Why people move into this role:
Youandrsquo;re not walking into a disorganised shop floor. This is a well-established operation with consistent work, structured processes and equipment thatandrsquo;s been invested in properly. Youandrsquo;re there to do the job properly, not constantly fix problems that shouldnandrsquo;t be there.

What you get:
  • andpound;17.61 to andpound;18.64 per hour
  • Circa andpound;36,600 to andpound;38,800 per year based on 40 hours
  • Overtime available
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Company pension and life assurance
  • Healthcare scheme
  • Reduced gym membership
  • Monthly incentives and referral bonuses
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Free secure on-site parking
