Based in Consett, our client is a well-established and forward-thinking engineering business specialising in the reverse engineering and refurbishment of rotating equipment. Supporting a wide range of industrial sectors, they provide expert servicing, repair, and overhaul solutions across all types of pumps.

THE ROLE
andbull; Produce precision-engineered components from technical drawings using Puma CNC turning machines
andbull; Program, set, and operate CNC lathes (Fanuc controls) to achieve accurate and consistent results
andbull; Work to tight tolerances (up to 0.02mm) while maintaining high quality standards
andbull; Deliver components within agreed production deadlines
andbull; Ensure all machining activities comply with company procedures and British Standards
andbull; Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency
andbull; Support wider teams in fault finding and resolving production or engineering issues
andbull; Work collaboratively within a small, skilled machine shop handling a varied workload
THE PERSON
andbull; Time-served CNC machinist with strong turning experience
andbull; Proven experience with Fanuc programming (essential)
andbull; Experience operating Puma CNC machines is advantageous
andbull; Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
andbull; Confident working in both metric and imperial measurements
andbull; High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
andbull; Reliable, punctual, and flexible in approach to work
andbull; Team player with a proactive attitude and strong work ethic
