Control Panel Wireman

We are currently looking for an experienced Control Panel Wireman to join an established engineering team in Derby on an initial 4-month contract.

This is a hands-on panel wiring and build role, working from electrical schematics and drawings to build and wire a range of control and automation panels.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Building and wiring control and automation panels from electrical drawings
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Fitting trays, backplates and electrical components
• Wiring and terminating control panels to a high standard
• Adapting backplates and panels where required
• Working on a range of panels, from smaller pump/control panels through to more complex BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) panels
• Following good panel-building practices, including LV/HV separation and heat dissipation

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Control Panel Wireman / Panel Wirer / Panel Builder
• Strong experience building industrial, machinery or automation panels
• Confident reading electrical schematics
• Good mechanical and electrical panel-building skills
• Experience working with PLCs, SCADA and networking would be advantageous
• Able to work independently and to a high standard
• Must be available for an immediate start
