Controls Engineer
Job Description
We are recruiting a senior controls engineer to join a large manufacturing business in a hands-on role, working closely with the shopfloor rather than being desk-based.
You'll be tasked with-maintaining and improving-PLC-based control systems-and be a crucial source of technical knowledge.
This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in real-time fault finding, upgrades, and automation projects.
The controls engineer role is site based, working a standard 40 hour week.
As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for:

PLC andamp; HMI programming using Allen Bradley systems, including modifications and upgrades

Control system fault finding across multiple platforms

Delivering automation projects end-to-end, from design through to implementation-

Supporting and upskilling on-site shift engineers

HMI/SCADA development-
The successful Controls Engineer will have experience in:

PLC system upgrades

Drives including AB, ABB, and Siemens

Strong fault-finding and diagnostics skills (Autem and IBA advantageous)

Clear communication with a structured, methodical approach
The Controls Engineer will be site-based.
