The Role

As Department Engineer, youand#39;ll sit at the heart of the maintenance function andmdash; bridging the gap between hands-on technical delivery and strategic reliability improvement. Primarily office-based, youand#39;ll work in close partnership with operations to plan, lead and continuously improve maintenance activity across site.

This isnand#39;t just a technical role. Youand#39;ll be managing people, driving standards and genuinely influencing how the engineering function operates day to day.

What Youand#39;ll Be Doing

  • Leading the delivery of the weekly maintenance schedule through an information centre and CMMS
  • Managing and developing a team of trades and apprentices, coaching them to a consistently high standard
  • Driving a reliability-focused culture using recognised lean principles
  • Supporting fault finding and diagnosis across complex plant and equipment
  • Managing external contractors to health andamp; safety, cost, time and quality expectations
  • Working towards achieving Isolation Officer (IO) and Senior Authorised Person (SAP) accreditation
  • Supporting new equipment installation and providing long-term maintenance input
  • Identifying changes in engineering standards and legislation and ensuring site compliance
  • Ensuring all HSEQ standards are upheld and that accidents and incidents are thoroughly investigated with robust corrective actions

What Weand#39;re Looking For

  • A solid background in engineering maintenance within a heavy industrial environment andmdash; mechanical bias preferred
  • HNC or above in an engineering discipline, or demonstrable experience with a commitment to further study
  • A good working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Experience of industrial-scale process plant operations and maintenance
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills andmdash; both written and verbal
  • Experience working within a COMAH environment would be a distinct advantage

  • 07:30 andndash; 16:00 (Monandndash;Thu)
  • 07:30 andndash; 12:30 (Fri)
