Freelance Design Manager

Our client is an established Main Contractor who have been in business for circa 20 years
andnbsp;
They specialise in delivering retail space for clients, from standard new builds to the more complex Cut andamp; Carve of existing building.
andnbsp;
To date they have always had their Contracts Managers liaise and raise RFI's with the consultants appointed and novated by the client.andnbsp; However, they have decided that they would like to hire a freelance Design Coordinator / Manager to assist for a minimum of a years work, based mainly out of their Birmingham office with some flexibility on WFH.
andnbsp;
The role will be to interrogate the consultants' drawings and information, raising RFI's, proactively chasing them up, coming up with proposals that can be offered as solutions, as long as the consultants sign off on them.
andnbsp;
The successful candidate must have previous experience as a Design coordination or worked in an Architectural practice.andnbsp; Possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work with minimal supervision whilst working closely with the Contracts Manager, Project Quantity Surveyor and the rest of the team when necessary.

You must be able to demonstrate experience in chairing design meetings/workshops, taking minutes, closing out issues, chasing consultants and carrying out administrative duties associated with the role.

You must have a Good level of experience with typical IT based systems
