FINTEC recruit is supporting hiring for an Electronic Design Engineer, with a leading manufacturing business in Hertfordshire.andnbsp; Salary is up to andpound;45,000 plus generous bonus and benefits.andnbsp; Working within a small skilled team of Engineers within a laboratory setting.andnbsp; Working Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, early finish on Fridays.andnbsp; We are looking for an Electronic Design Engineer, who has experience/knowledge with embedded systems, hardware, instrumentation OR Randamp;D who is looking for a varied hands-on development role.andnbsp; Ideally you will be andnbsp;comfortable working across electronics, software, and mechanical aspects of product development within a small specialist manufacturing company.

Responsibilities:

andnbsp;andbull; Design and develop new scientific instruments from concept through to production
andbull; Support and improve existing electronic and embedded systems products
andbull; Work with analogue and digital electronics, A to D conversion, and serial interfaces
andbull; Contribute to embedded software development and debugging, primarily in C
andbull; Assist with mechanical and whole-instrument design considerations
andbull; Learn and apply infrared measurement techniques, optics, and low-pressure gas systems
andbull; Provide occasional technical support input for long-life products used in research environments
andbull; Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and service teams

Skills and Experience required for the Electronic Design Engineer

andnbsp;andbull; Two yearsandrsquo;+ experience in electronic product design or development engineering

andbull; Understanding of analogue circuitry, A to D converters, and embedded systems
andbull; Familiarity with interfaces such as I2C, SPI, USB, or RS232
andbull; Experience writing and debugging software, ideally in C
andbull; Broad engineering mindset with willingness to work across disciplines

Desirable to have:

• Degree or hold a relevant qualification in electronics, physics, engineering or another STEM subject
• Knowledge of DSP techniques or embedded FORTH language
  Understanding of infrared sensing, optics, or gas measurement systems
  Appreciation of mechanical design within complete instruments
  Experience in scientific instrumentation, laboratory equipment, or precision devices
