English Teacher - Specialist SEN School - Hemel Hempstead

We are recruiting an English Teacher in Hemel Hempstead to join a specialist educational setting supporting pupils aged 7-16 with autism, ADHD and associated complex needs.
The successful candidate will teach exclusively at KS4, delivering GCSE English lessons to pupils who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative teacher who can adapt their teaching to meet individual needs, build confidence and help pupils achieve their academic potential.

The Role:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons exclusively to KS4 pupils.
Prepare pupils for GCSE English examinations, adapting content to suit individual abilities.
Develop reading, writing, comprehension and analytical skills.
Differentiate lessons to accommodate varying learning abilities and individual EHCP targets.
Monitor progress, identify gaps in knowledge and provide targeted support.
Use creative and practical teaching approaches to encourage engagement.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider team to support pupil progress.
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD or additional learning needs would be advantageous.
Confident delivering GCSE-level content and preparing pupils for examinations.
Able to adapt teaching methods to support different learning styles.
Patient, empathetic, resilient and enthusiastic.
A genuine commitment to helping young people achieve their potential.
Salary: £39,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
