The Role of the Estimating Manager:

andbull; Lead the sales and estimating process from enquiry through to order conversion

andbull; Actively win new business and build long-term client relationships

andbull; Manage enquiries and convert them into secured projects

andbull; Price and estimate projects ranging from andpound;20,000 to andpound;2andndash;3 million (average around andpound;500k)

andbull; Prepare accurate and competitive costings for structural steel projects

andbull; Meet clients face-to-face, develop relationships and identify new opportunities

andbull; Build reports and manage pipeline activity in line with KPIs

andbull; Carry out business development including door knocking and generating new leads

andbull; Liaise with contractors, engineers, architects and internal teams

andbull; Present costings back to clients and close deals

Requirements of the Estimating Manager:

andbull; Experience in sales and estimating within structural steel or construction

andbull; At least 5 yearsandrsquo; experience within the structural steel industry

andbull; Proven track record of achieving sales targets and winning work

andbull; Ability to convert enquiries into orders

andbull; Strong commercial awareness and ability to price projects accurately

andbull; Experience dealing with contractors, engineers and architects

andbull; Ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications

andbull; Knowledge of structural or civil engineering principles

andbull; Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

andbull; Ability to build reports and manage pipeline activity

andbull; Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

andbull; Degree qualified or strong industry knowledge (desirable)
