Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: UK-based with international travel
Travel: Majority overseas
Weandrsquo;re currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supporting projects on a global scale. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working on-site, commissioning equipment, and seeing projects through from installation to final handover. The position involves significant international travel and will play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operating as intended across customer sites worldwide.
As a Field Service andamp; Commissioning Engineer, you will:
- Carry out on-site commissioning activities across international customer sites
- Perform device setup, I/O checks, and software fault finding
- Support installation, testing, and final system handover
- Work from and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and process drawings
- Follow structured test procedures and complete documented testing
- Carry out device calibration and system validation
- Identify and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and process systems
- Work closely with internal engineering teams and customer representatives
Weandrsquo;re looking for a Field Service Engineer with strong commissioning and fault-finding experience: You will ideally have:
- Experience in commissioning or field service engineering within the process engineering industryandnbsp;
- Strong understanding of process engineering principles
- Experience with device setup, I/O checks, and software fault finding
- The ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, GA drawings and Pandamp;IDs
- Experience following documented test procedures and structured testing
- Knowledge of device calibration and validation processes
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capability
- A flexible approach and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods
The successful Field Service andamp; Commissioning Engineer will ideally hold the below qualifications:
- Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Time-served apprenticeship or similar practical training
- Previous experience working within a relevant engineering or process environment
