My client is a SME freight forwarding business, with huge ambitions for growth, in the freight andamp; shipping industry. You will be joining a fast-pace environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the worldand#39;s largest industrial, retail andamp; FMCG based customers. My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight andamp; road freight solutions, which are both cost effective andamp; time sensitive.

Job Description

As a Freight Forwarding Manager you will report in to the Freight Director on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Castle Donington office in Leicestershire:

  • Managing a small team of 8 specialist freight forwarders across road, air andamp; sea freight
  • Overseeing the team responsible for preparing road, air and sea freight pricing andamp; customer quotations - informing about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods.
  • Organising transport through third party transit means - such as air freight, sea freight and dedicated road freight transport.
  • Providing appropriate transportation means with adequate load capacity and regulations around IMDG, IATA.
  • Handling customs entries and arranging billings for VAT/Duties
  • Ensuring, booking and conducting customs clearance.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have an expansive background in multi-modal freight forwarding (either road, air or sea freight). The ideal Freight Forwarding Manager will have the following skills and experience:

  • 4+ yearand#39;s experience in freight forwarding in any mode of freight (ideally focused on sea and air freight)
  • Proven people leadership experience of small or large teams
  • Experience leading or managing teams within a freight forwarding or shipping environment.
  • Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across road, air andamp; sea freight.
  • Desirable experience of customs compliance
  • Excellent customer service experience
  • Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous
  • Commutable to Castle Donington, Leicestershireandnbsp;on a hybrid basis
