Location: Basildon, Essex (office-based with site visits as required)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Monday andndash; Friday, 08:30andndash;17:00 (40 hours per week)
Salary: andpound;45,000 andndash; andpound;55,000 per annum (DOE)

Overview

Our client is recruiting a Health, Safety and Compliance Manager to support its Electrical, Mechanical, Passive Fire and Main Contracting operations from its Basildon office.

This role is primarily focused on maintaining and managing company compliance systems, including ISO and SSIP accreditations, while also carrying out site audits and supporting operational teams when required.

This is not a purely site-based role. The successful candidate will be flexible to attend site when needed (including contractor audits and HSE inspections) but will be mainly responsible for the day-to-day business operations of health, safety and compliance management.

The role suits someone with experience managing company management systems who is confident auditing contractors and acting as a point of contact for CDM and compliance advice.

Key Responsibilities

andbull; Maintain and develop company health, safety and compliance systems
andbull; Manage and monitor compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
andbull; Lead SSIP renewals including Constructionline, SafeContractor and Achilles
andbull; Conduct contractor and site audits, including Principal Contractor duties under CDM Regulations
andbull; Attend site when required and support HSE inspections
andbull; Manage the companyandrsquo;s online Handamp;S platform (inductions, RAMS, competency records, sign-in/out)
andbull; Own the incident investigation process (accidents and near misses) and implement corrective actions
andbull; Maintain contractor prequalification and approval processes
andbull; Lead safety communications, briefings and committee meetings
andbull; Oversee the company training matrix and arrange external training as required
andbull; Act as a point of contact for employees seeking advice on CDM and compliance matters
andbull; Provide compliance reporting and audit preparation for Directors and Operations Managers

Ideal Candidate Profile

Qualifications (Essential):
andbull; NEBOSH or IOSH qualification in Occupational Health andamp; Safety

Experience (Essential):
andbull; Proven experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and 45001 systems
andbull; Experience maintaining or achieving SSIP accreditations
andbull; Background in construction, Mandamp;E, electrical, passive fire or main contracting environments
andbull; Practical knowledge of CDM Regulations and Principal Contractor duties
andbull; Experience conducting audits and incident investigations
