Astute's Nuclear Team is partnering with a major infrastructure contractor to recruit a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager for a high-profile project based in Snowdonia.
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager role comes with a salary of up to -80,000 dependant on experience and will be based on-site on the project. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading organisation delivering complex infrastructure works in a challenging and highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will take a lead role in driving health, safety and wellbeing standards across site, ensuring best practice is embedded throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities and duties of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager role
Reporting to the Project Director, you will:
- Lead and promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across the project
- Provide expert advice and support to project leadership, managers and supervisors on Handamp;S responsibilities and compliance
- Ensure all site activities are delivered in line with company procedures, legislation and industry best practice
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and surveillance to identify risks and drive continuous improvement
- Lead and manage accident and incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and preventative actions implemented
- Monitor and analyse Handamp;S performance data, identifying trends and implementing improvement initiatives
- Develop and deliver health and safety campaigns, lessons learned sessions and continuous improvement plans
- Review and approve Handamp;S documentation including plans, procedures and method statements for internal teams and contractors
- Manage the project induction process, ensuring all personnel receive appropriate onboarding and safety briefings
- Produce reports and presentations on Handamp;S performance and ensure compliance with project KPIs and stakeholder requirements
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a senior Handamp;S role within construction, infrastructure or engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience managing audits, inspections and incident investigations
- Familiarity with health and safety management systems and site-based processes
