HGV Driver / Handler
Location: South East (coverage up to Northampton)
Base Requirement: Must be commutable to Ashford, Feltham
Salary: -36,000 per annum
Hours: 45 hours per week (overtime available) Overnight stays in hotels included
Start: ASAP

We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Driver / Handler to join our team, covering the South East and up to Northampton. This is a hands-on role involving not just driving, but also delivery, positioning, installation, and handling of high-value customer equipment across the UK.
This position requires DIY Tool skills, flexibility, physical capability, and a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service.

The Role
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Driver / Handler to join our team, covering the South East and up to Northampton. This is a hands-on role involving not just driving, but also delivery, positioning, installation, and handling of high-value customer equipment across the UK.
This position requires DIY Tool skills, flexibility, physical capability, and a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily driving duties within the UK in any vehicle class permitted by your licence
- Conducting vehicle checks in line with company policy and reporting defects, incidents, and near-misses
- Supporting the loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring equipment is secure and fit for transit
- Delivery, collection, positioning, installation and de-installation of customer equipment
- Manual handling, lifting and carrying (heavy lifting involved)
- Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness
- Completing all required job documentation (delivery/collection notes, RAMS, bill of materials, timesheets, etc.)
- Updating and completing jobs via driver PDA
- Reporting delays, damage, or scope changes within required timeframes
- Acting as Team Leader when nominated, supervising assistants and conducting safety briefings
- Ensuring compliance with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards
- Keeping tachograph and driver card downloads up to date
- Maintaining fuel levels (minimum half tank) and vehicle readiness for next user
- Labelling, quarantining and reporting damaged equipment
- Escalating ongoing training needs
- Valid HGV licence
- No more than 6 penalty points
- No previous driving bans
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Flexible with working hours and regular overnight stays
- Physically fit and capable of heavy manual handling
- Strong paperwork and administrative accuracy
- Good customer-facing communication skills
- Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
