About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Housing Sustainment Advisor to deliver a high-quality Intensive Housing Management (IHM) service across Plymouth.
This is a community-based role where you will work closely with Housing Officers and support teams to help individuals sustain their tenancies, live independently, and progress toward long-term housing goals. Youandrsquo;ll take a person-centred, strengths-based approach, supporting customers with practical housing advice while addressing underlying challenges.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular home visits to review customer progress and agree support plans
  • Support customers to maintain safe, clean, and well-managed accommodation
  • Provide guidance on property upkeep and use of household appliances
  • Assist with budgeting, income maximisation, and accessing grants/charities
  • Support housing-related processes including benefit evidence and housing applications
  • Liaise with contractors and attend appointments for property access
  • Report and follow up on repairs and maintenance issues
  • Facilitate house meetings to encourage engagement and shared responsibility
  • Complete risk and needs assessments, working alongside external agencies
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service reviews
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners

Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work flexibly across the Plymouth area
