Profile andndash; Instrument Technician

My client is a world leader in the provision of highly advanced technical solutions to the Energy and Chemical sectors. They are currently looking for an Instrument Technician to join their growing team who are advancing technology in their sector. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in an environment where investment is continuous and substantial.

Duties andndash; Instrument Technician

andbull; Carry out instrument planned and breakdown maintenance.
andbull; Carry out project installation (CAPEX) and commissioning, review and markup of drawings.
andbull; Assist and/or supervise contractors and service personnel in maintaining Instrument, electric and other plant equipment.
andbull; Complete production-critical repairs and all critical inspections in a safe and timely manner to maximise availability of plant and avoid overdue inspection activities.
andbull; Execute work in a safe manner in accordance with andlsquo;safe working practicesandrsquo;, site standards, and site safety systems such as Task Risk Assessments and Maintenance Procedures.
andbull; Procure spares and equipment from suppliers. Ensure and maintain adequate economic stores of materials, equipment and tools.
andbull; Liaise with instrument, electrical and other specialist engineers.
andbull; Carry out department audits; represent department in site safety initiatives and legislative matters, advise in development of safe working practices/procedures.

Experience/Qualifications andndash; Instrument Technician

andbull; City and Guilds, ONC, HNC, Apprentice trained or equivalent experience
andbull; Experience in refinery, chemical or allied industry working on Instrumented Systems.

Candidates who are currently a Wire Person, Technician, Assembler, Mechanical Fitter, Electronic Fitter, Electrical Technician, Operative, Plant Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, ECandamp;I Technician and Manufacturing Engineer could be suitable for this role.
