Hill McGlynn Recruitment are currently supporting a leading engineering and infrastructure contractor in their search for a Junior Buyer to join their procurement team in Haydock.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction or Mandamp;E procurement, working alongside experienced buyers on live projects.

The Role:
Supporting the procurement team, you will assist with sourcing materials, raising purchase orders, and coordinating supplier deliveries.

Key duties include:
  • Assisting withtheandnbsp; procurement of materials and plant
  • Raising and tracking purchase orders
  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Comparing quotations and supporting negotiations
  • Updating procurement systems and maintaining records
  • Supporting senior buyers with reporting and cost tracking
The Candidate:
We're looking for someone organised, commercially aware, and keen to develop.

You should have:
  • 1-3 years' experience in a buying, procurement, or construction role (preferred)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Experience within construction, Mandamp;E, or engineering is advantageous but not essential.
