MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

Location: Leeds
Salary: £50,000
Shift: Days and Nights

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician to join a well-established manufacturing business in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical maintenance professional to join a stable site where you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of production machinery and site services.

Job Role

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across a busy manufacturing environment. You will be working on a range of automated production machinery and electrical systems, diagnosing faults and ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard.

The role will involve electrical fault finding, planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response, continuous improvement and supporting the ongoing reliability of the site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Maintenance Electrician:

  • Completed a recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial or automated environment.
  • Experience with electrical fault finding and maintenance of industrial machinery.
  • Comfortable working a days and nights shift pattern.
  • Able to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns.

Requirements for the Maintenance Electrician:

  • Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with fault finding on industrial electrical systems.
  • Good understanding of electrical control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Previous experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Desirable Requirements for the Maintenance Electrician:

  • Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Knowledge of automation and control systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Additional mechanical maintenance experience would be advantageous.
