Our site in Nantwich, Aston, is a vibrant facility producing chilled speciality breads, including sliced baguettes, flatbreads, and dough balls. The site employs around 270 people and delivers high-quality products to a dedicated customer base.
What you'll be doing
In this busy and exciting role, you will use your engineering skills and problem-solving abilities to maintain and optimise our processing and packaging equipment to keep our operations running safely, smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with operational colleagues, you'll diagnose faults, complete repairs, support continuous improvement, and ensure our equipment delivers reliable, high-quality performance for our customers.
Role Accountabilities
andbull; Prepare and carry out maintenance work on food and drink processing and packaging equipment
andbull; Conduct planned and predictive maintenance to optimise performance and prevent downtime
andbull; Respond promptly to breakdowns and carry out corrective actions
andbull; Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, automation and pneumatic faults
andbull; Support operational teams with machinery changeovers, set-ups and adjustments
andbull; Manufacture or repair component parts to maintain equipment reliability
andbull; Contribute to continuous improvement projects and technical performance reviews
andbull; Identify and implement engineering solutions to improve efficiency and profitability
andbull; Maintain accurate maintenance and engineering documentation
andbull; Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are available, safe and well maintained
What we're looking for
andbull; Level 2 Maths/English and a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (Candamp;G/EAL NVQ 3/4 or OAL FDEM)
andbull; Ability to complete IET Wiring Regs, Level 2 Food Safety, CMMS and contractor control training in year one
andbull; Multiskilled capability with an electrical bias
andbull; Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills
andbull; Knowledge of SHE procedures
andbull; Experience in fault finding, maintenance planning, IT systems and working to SOPs
andbull; Mechanical/electrical knowledge including hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, PLCs and sensors
andbull; Understanding of asset performance and spare parts management
andbull; Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely, FMCG experience, continuous improvement, condition-based monitoring or reliability techniques
