Based in Consett, our client is a well-established and forward-thinking engineering business specialising in the reverse engineering and refurbishment of rotating equipment. THE ROLE
andbull; Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings using a range of manual lathes
andbull; Work to fine tolerances (up to 0.02mm) ensuring accuracy and consistency
andbull; Produce high-quality parts within agreed timeframes to meet production schedules
andbull; Adhere to all safety and quality procedures, contributing to ongoing process improvements
andbull; Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures and British Standards
andbull; Support internal teams in identifying and resolving technical or production issues
andbull; Operate within a varied machine shop environment handling a wide range of components
andbull; Collaborate with a small team to maintain efficiency and high standards across the workshop
THE PERSON
andbull; Time-served machinist with experience in manual turning
andbull; Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
andbull; Confident working with both metric and imperial measurements
andbull; Experience working to tight tolerances with strong attention to detail
andbull; Additional machining skills (milling, boring, grinding, slotting) are advantageous but not essential
andbull; Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of work
andbull; Team player with a flexible and proactive approach
