Marine Systems Engineer - Submarine MESM

Job Description

Our client, a leader in defence and aerospace technology, is seeking a Marine Engineering Submarine (MESM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join their team in Berkshire. This role is pivotal in modernising the training and preparation of the armed forces through advanced technology and a blended learning approach. The position is offering a balance between remote work and on-site responsibilities.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the wider team to analyse, design, and produce DSAT documentation and processes
  • Interview subject matter experts to gather required data and participate in internal workshops
  • Work with customers and suppliers to identify and obtain technical data for courseware and media development
  • Contextualise training and language with courseware and media content developers
  • Conduct upkeep, update, and revalidation of course technical data
  • Identify opportunities to improve training methods and media
  • Promote a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance
  • Perform other duties to complete the CMDC Training Service


Job Requirements:

  • Proven at-sea experience as a Category A or B Nuclear watchkeeper
  • Understanding of DSAT courseware and media development
  • Experience with training requirements, design, or delivery
  • Strong electrical background
  • Experience as a member of a boat build crew is desirable
  • Familiarity with Defence Equipment andamp; Support (DEandamp;S) or Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA)
