A global market-leading manufacturing company is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Materials Planner to support production and service operations from its Poole site.
This is a fast-paced, delivery-critical role responsible for executing the day-to-day supply chain plan, ensuring material availability, and maintaining system accuracy across MRP and ERP processes. Working closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Operations teams, the Materials Planner will play a key role in keeping manufacturing running smoothly and on schedule.

Key responsibilities:
andbull; Run and manage MRP to generate accurate purchasing requirements
andbull; Convert demand signals into timely and accurate purchase orders
andbull; Actively manage supplier order books to meet required delivery dates
andbull; Expedite late or critical orders to protect production and service schedules
andbull; Maintain optimal stock levels across production parts, spares, and consumables
andbull; Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and system anomalies
andbull; Support stock accuracy and cycle count processes
andbull; Track purchase order status and manage call-off orders
andbull; Work closely with Warehouse, Production, and Service teams to prioritise demand
andbull; Provide clear visibility of shortages and recovery plans
andbull; Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, shortages, and returns
andbull; Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data including lead times, MOQs, and pricing
andbull; Produce reports on shortages, overdue orders, and supplier performance
Experience required:
andbull; Experience in a purchasing, materials planning, or supply chain role
andbull; Background within a manufacturing or engineering environment
andbull; Experience managing stock, expediting orders, and coordinating suppliers
andbull; Confident working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Skills required:
andbull; Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
andbull; High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
andbull; Clear and confident communication skills
andbull; Proactive, resilient, and solution-focused approach
andbull; Strong IT skills, particularly with planning and reporting data
andbull; SAP Business One experience would be advantageous
andbull; CIPS Level 3 (or working towards) would be beneficial
