My client, a market leading MEP design Consultancy who specialise in complex MEP designs for varied projects, are searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Surbiton. andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp;
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join a supportive team based in London to mentor junior team members and complete HVAC designs for commercial and industrial developments, marinas, ports and harbours across the UK and overseas. andnbsp;
As Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be expected to complete detailed mechanical designs including heating, ventilation, plumbing and air-conditioning using AutoCAD and Revit. andnbsp;
You will also be expected to complete the following;andnbsp;
-2D and 3D models, perform heat load calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection using relevant software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, HAP, or Elite).
- Prepare and review mechanical drawings, schematics, simulations and technical specifications in accordance with building codes, sustainability goals, and project requirements.
-Design to BIM level 2 in accordance with British Standards PAS 1192-5
-Collaborate with electrical, plumbing, and structural engineers to ensure coordinated MEP layouts and avoid design clashes.
- Attend internal external meetings with Clients and Contractors on site to resolve design issues/queries and align project objectives.
-Review designs submitted by the team and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information).
-Site visits across the region (and occasionally overseas) to monitor installation quality, verify compliance with original designs and highlight issues during construction.
-Liaise with design teams, architectural teams and site engineers to ensure designs are installed to specifications and client requirements.andnbsp;
-Client meetings to discuss design briefs and project progress.
-Evaluate new materials and designs ensuring energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be expected to have a BSc and/or an MSc Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering and have experience working for a UK based or International Consultancy completing detailed HVAC designs for major infrastructure, commercial and industrial sites or preferably for marinas, ports or harbours using AutoCAD and Revit.andnbsp;
Site experience is also greatly beneficial to the team and awareness of building control systems.andnbsp; andnbsp;andnbsp;
You are also required to have experience managing projects, mentoring team members and have a detailed knowledge PAS 1192-5, RIBA stage 4 and other relevant codes. andnbsp;You will also be expected to have a keen understanding of BREEAM and net zero. andnbsp;
