Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical)

First Achieve Engineering are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical) to join a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs to plant, machinery, and equipment in a safe and timely manner
  • Support the development and execution of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and return equipment to service efficiently
  • Work with maintenance systems to plan and prioritise workloads
  • Assist with installation, movement, and repositioning of machinery
  • Conduct electrical maintenance including wiring, panels, and control systems (110v, 240v, 415v)
  • Install and maintain electrical components such as switches, relays, and control equipment
  • Manufacture simple spare parts using workshop machinery where required
  • Work alongside external contractors and specialist engineers when necessary
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts and MEWPs (training provided if required)
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
  • Promote and maintain high health andamp; safety standards across all activities
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members



Requirements

Essential:

  • Time-served engineer in machine tool fitting or equivalent qualification
  • Formal electrical qualification (e.g. IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance engineering role
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and electrical drawings
  • Knowledge of current electrical regulations and installation practices
  • Experience with planned and preventative maintenance systems
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience with conduit, armoured cable, tray, and trunking installations
  • Experience using mechanical lifting equipment
  • Multi-skilled across both electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Experience within industrial or commercial engineering environments
