Spencer Clarke Group's Local Authority client is seeking an experienced interim leader to support a time-critical operational improvement assignment across a large, front-line leisure service.
This is a hands-on transformation brief for someone who can quickly assess service risk, review management practice, and implement a clear plan to improve governance, operational consistency and people management across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include
- Conducting a rapid, objective review of operational and management practice
- Identifying service risks, root causes and priority improvement areas
- Developing and supporting delivery of a practical action plan
- Improving consistency, governance and operational effectiveness across sites
- Reviewing alignment with HR, health and safety, procurement and financial procedures
- Working closely with senior leadership and HR colleagues in a politically sensitive environment
- Supporting modernisation of workforce management and day-to-day service operations
About You
- Proven senior leadership experience across large, front-line operational services
- Strong track record in transformation, stabilisation and service improvement
- Comfortable operating in unionised environments and handling sensitive employee relations issues
- Able to influence senior stakeholders and work credibly at both strategic and operational level
- Ideally brings experience of insourcing, outsourcing or post-transition service reset work
- Public sector or local government experience essential
- Able to operate independently and objectively throughout the assignment
