Job Description

We are looking for experienced Platers to support heavy fabrication projects within a marine.

Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must hold current SC clearance.



Key Responsibilities / Skills

  • Heavy fabrication and platework on structural steel components
  • Reading and working from engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Marking out, cutting, fitting, and assembling plate and structural sections
  • Weld preparation, including edge prep, alignment, and fit-up
  • Working with carbon steel plate to marine standards
  • Safe use of fabrication equipment (oxy-fuel, plasma, grinders, lifting gear)
  • Working independently or as part of a team
  • Adhering to site safety rules, RAMS, and quality requirements


Qualifications andamp; Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 / SVQ Level 3 in Plating / Fabrication or completed apprenticeship
  • Proven experience as aPlater / Fabricator in:
    • Marine
    • Offshore
    • Shipbuilding
    • Oil andamp; Gas environments
  • Experience on heavy fabrication / structural steel projects
  • Valid SC (Security Check) clearance - Proof required via UKSV

Rate: -33 per hour (all hours)
Contract: Rolling contract - project dependent
Hours: 36 standard

  • Mon-Thu: 08:05-16:45
  • Fri: 08:05-12:05
  • Overtime may be available
