Production Operative | Cheltenham | Temp to Perm

  • -15.91 per hour starting rate | -190 per shift
  • 4 days on, 4 days off
  • Generous Overtime Pay Rates

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Cheltenham, a leading organisation specialising in advanced materials for filtration, separators, and energy storage. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their production team and looking to strengthen their busy slitting department.

The Role

We're recruiting Manufacturing Operatives to join a fast-paced production environment where your contribution is key to keeping operations running smoothly.

You'll be:

  • Receiving and interpreting production orders and calculating reel widths
  • Operating slitting machines, including loading reels, threading materials, and setting knife bars
  • Monitoring machinery, identifying faults, and reporting issues promptly
  • Managing trim and dust extraction units and taking samples when required
  • Handling coils, marking and preparing them for packaging, and recording production data
  • Assisting with reel upending and supporting wider departmental tasks
  • Carrying out minor maintenance and maintaining high housekeeping standards
  • Following health andamp; safety procedures and ensuring products meet required specifications


Shift Pattern

  • 4 days on / 4 days off
  • Rotating shifts: 2 days (6am-6pm) followed by 2 nights (6pm-6am)
  • Must be able to commit to full shift schedule


Pay andamp; Benefits

  • -15.91 per hour starting rate
  • Pay increases as you develop skills (tiered progression structure)
  • -35,000+ annual earnings based on standard hours
  • Overtime available - push your earnings higher (1.3x, 1.5x andamp; 2x pay rates)
  • Weekly pay while temporary

Requirements

  • Must drive and have own vehicle due to location
  • Reliable and motivated individuals
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Previous machine operative or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Previous overhead crane experience is desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
