Project Manager - Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plants

The Opportunity
A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Project Manager to support the delivery of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant projects in Northampton. These facilities play a key role in converting organic waste into biomethane, contributing to the UK's transition toward sustainable energy.
This is a hands-on, site-focused role offering full project ownership across both technical delivery and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of AD plant construction and upgrade projects
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary site teams
- Oversee project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved
- Take ownership of project budgets and cost control
- Produce and manage weekly and monthly cost reports
- Review contractor applications, variations, and financial forecasts
- Identify and mitigate project risks
- Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
About You
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within:
- Renewable energy, AD, biogas, or waste-to-energy
- OR related sectors such as utilities, water treatment, or industrial/process engineering
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and civil elements of infrastructure projects
- Experience delivering site-based projects
- Demonstrable commercial awareness, including budget management and reporting
- Ability to work autonomously in a lean project environment
Key Requirement - Commercial Responsibility
This role requires a Project Manager who is comfortable managing both delivery and commercial aspects of projects. You will be responsible for cost tracking, reporting, and financial oversight, making commercial awareness essential.
