Purchase Ledger Clerk - Initial 6 Month FTC

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a well-established manufacturing business based in East Kent, supporting multiple legal entities across manufacturing, UK sales, and international operations. Working as part of a collaborative and fast-paced Accounts Payable function, this role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic business environment while developing your career within a supportive and growth-focused organisation. As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across finance, operations, and sales, as well as external suppliers and auditors. This role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage high volumes of transactions while maintaining excellent working relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process, code, and post supplier invoices, payments, and employee expenses accurately and on time
  • Prepare and support payment runs, reconcile supplier statements, and resolve queries efficiently
  • Manage banking activities, including cash allocations and overseas transactions
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable ledger and Goods In/Goods Receipt accounts
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers while supporting ad hoc finance tasks

Skills andamp; Experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a high-volume processing environment (preferably manufacturing or engineering) and demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy. A good understanding of accounting principles and VAT. Strong communication skills are essential, alongside good organisational and time management abilities. A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and team-oriented approach is key to success in this role, while Intermediate Excel skills and any experience with SAP would be advantageous.

On offer is an annualised salary of c-30,000 FTE pro rata for an initial 6 month FTC, plus company benefits. #3063
