PV Engineer/ Technician andndash; Solar Farm

Salary: andpound;45,000 andndash; andpound;60,000 per year (DOE)

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Location: Sites across the UK (region-based)

Schedule: Mondayandndash;Friday with a paid weekend rota (approx. 1 in 5 weekends) and occasional overnight stays

What Youandrsquo;ll Do

  • Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and remedial work on solar PV systems (AC andamp; DC)
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fixes as needed
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, using industry-standard testing equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, etc.)
  • Produce clear, accurate site reports after each visit via the online reporting system
  • Conduct job-specific risk assessments, report near-misses, and ensure strict health andamp; safety compliance
  • Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors when required
  • Maintain detailed electrical test records, suitable for audits
  • Work occasional nights away or on weekends (with extra pay)

What Theyandrsquo;re Looking For?

Essential

  • 3+ yearsandrsquo; experience on utility-scale, ground-mounted Solar PV Oandamp;M projects
  • Level 3 City andamp; Guilds / NVQ in Electrical Installations
  • Candamp;G 2382-18
  • Candamp;G 2391-52 (or equivalent testing qualification)
  • HV AP qualification
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of AC andamp; DC systems and experience using testing tools
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Harness-trained (or willingness to complete training)
  • First Aid and Fire Marshal training
  • IOSH Health andamp; Safety qualification (or willingness to train)
  • Experience with central inverters, SCADA, CCTV or battery-storage integration
  • Familiarity with high-voltage systems (33 kV) and associated switching / maintenance
