The Role

We are looking to appoint a committed and skilled Secondary Teaching Assistant to become part of our team. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and wider support staff to deliver effective in-class assistance and help create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH and SEN needs within the classroom, enabling them to engage with the curriculum and reach their full potential.

• Work alongside teaching staff to tailor lesson content and resources to meet individual and small group requirements.

• Encourage the development of studentsandrsquo; emotional regulation, social interaction, and self-confidence.

• Assist with maintaining positive behaviour and effective classroom management.

• Liaise with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to support Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted strategies.

• Promote an inclusive, safe, and stimulating learning environment for all learners.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students is essential.

• Sound knowledge of supporting students with SEMH and SEN.

• Suitable for aspiring teachers or those interested in a future career in education.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

• A compassionate, proactive, and patient approach to student support.
