A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking 2 freelance Section Engineers to support the delivery of a major highways project in Oxfordshire.
These are key site-based positions, working closely with the Site Agent and wider project team to coordinate engineering activities, oversee sections of work, and ensure delivery is completed safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
andmiddot;Taking responsibility for engineering delivery across allocated sections of the project
andmiddot;Managing and coordinating Site Engineers and supporting site teams
andmiddot;Overseeing setting out for highways and infrastructure works
andmiddot;Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements
andmiddot;Coordinating subcontractors and monitoring progress on site
andmiddot;Maintaining and overseeing site records, QA documentation, ITPs, and reports
andmiddot;Ensuring health & safety and quality standards are maintained
andmiddot;Liaising with the Site Agent, design teams, commercial teams, and subcontractors
andmiddot;Reviewing technical information and resolving engineering issues on site
andmiddot;Carrying out and checking surveys, setting out, and engineering works
Requirements
andmiddot;Proven experience as a Section Engineer within civil engineering
andmiddot;Strong background in highways and infrastructure projects
andmiddot;Experience managing or overseeing Site Engineers and subcontractors
andmiddot;Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, QA, and construction methodology
andmiddot;Competent with GPS, total station, and levelling equipment
andmiddot;HNC or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
andmiddot;CSCS card - essential
Desirable
andmiddot;Experience working under NEC contracts
andmiddot;AutoCAD knowledge
andmiddot;SMSTS or SSSTS
andmiddot;First Aid qualification
