A leading engineering organisation in Surrey is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of complex mechanical systems from concept through to production. This position offers the chance to work on highand#8209;integrity, performanceand#8209;critical products where innovation, precision, and engineering excellence are central to the work.

Key Responsibilities
andbull; Lead the mechanical design of assemblies and components involving actuators, hydraulics, or motionand#8209;control systems
andbull; Produce highand#8209;quality 3D models and detailed drawings using a modern 3D CAD package (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar)
andbull; Drive concept development, prototyping, testing, and design validation
andbull; Collaborate with crossand#8209;functional teams including electronics, manufacturing, and systems engineering
andbull; Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and peer review for junior engineers
andbull; Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements

About You
andbull; Proven experience in actuator design, hydraulic systems, or similar highand#8209;force/highand#8209;precision mechanisms
andbull; Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools and engineering documentation standards
andbull; Solid understanding of materials, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and mechanical engineering best practice
andbull; Confident communicator able to work effectively with technical and nonand#8209;technical stakeholders
andbull; Proactive, handsand#8209;on approach to problem solving

Desirable Experience
andbull; Exposure to FEA or CFD
andbull; Experience in regulated or safetyand#8209;critical industries
andbull; Knowledge of systems integration or mechatronics
