Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

A specialist London Cost Consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their building services team. The successful Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will work across technically complex projects including data centres, residential and industrial schemes.

The Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will take commercial ownership of MEP packages from early cost planning through procurement, delivery and final account. Working closely with clients, consultants and contractors, the Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will provide detailed cost advice across mechanical, electrical and public health services.

This role would suit a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor with strong consultancy experience who wants greater responsibility on technically demanding projects. The Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will manage key commissions, support junior colleagues and build strong relationships with clients across the London market.

Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing MEP cost plans, estimates and detailed budgets

  • Managing procurement and tendering for mechanical and electrical packages

  • Reviewing subcontractor quotations and producing tender recommendations

  • Managing valuations, variations, change control and final accounts

  • Monitoring MEP expenditure and reporting against agreed budgets

  • Providing commercial advice on building services design development

  • Attending client, design team and contractor meetings

  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery

  • Supporting and mentoring junior MEP Quantity Surveyors

Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Building Services or a related construction discipline

  • Strong UK consultancy / PQS experience

  • Proven experience managing MEP packages

  • Previous exposure to data centres, residential or industrial projects

  • MRICS qualified or actively progressing towards chartership

  • Good knowledge of JCT and other relevant UK contract forms

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and associated cost drivers

  • Confident client-facing and commercial management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple technically complex commissions

In Return:
