Sheq Manager
Job Description
Abatec is assisting their client with the recruitment of a SHEQ Manager to join a growing marine and civil engineering contractor on a permanent basis.
This is a key role offering the opportunity to influence safety culture, drive continuous improvement, and support high standards across a diverse UK-wide project portfolio. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee SHEQ activities across the business, combining site presence with strategic input.
As SHEQ Manager you will:
- Work closely with site teams to promote best practice and strengthen safety behaviours
- Carry out audits, inspections and compliance assessments across projects
- Support and enhance integrated management systems and procedures
- Partner with operational and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement
- Leading or supporting incident investigations and ensuring effective follow-up actions
- Contributing to emergency planning and response readiness where required.
Our client is looking for a SHEQ Manager with:
- NEBOSH Qualification (essential)
- IOSH and/or environmental certifications
- Demonstrable experience in a SHEQ-related role within relevant sectors
- Strong understanding of UK health andamp; safety and environmental legislation
- Experience working with ISO management systems (e.g. 9001, 14001, 45001)
- Flexibility to respond to operational demands, including occasional out-of-hours support
Salary/benefits:
- Salary -50,000 - -55,000
