What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, developing and supporting a highand#8209;performing Eand#8209;commerce engineering team.
- Building a culture rooted in trust, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Holding regular oneand#8209;toand#8209;ones, providing coaching and guiding professional development.
- Acting as an escalation point while enabling the team to resolve most issues independently.
- Overseeing the technical execution of roadmap features, improvements and fixes.
- Ensuring good engineering practices are followed and that quality is owned collectively.
- Collaborating closely with digital, UX, architecture, QA and wider business teams.
- Supporting planning, prioritisation and delivery cycles and driving iterative improvements.
- Leading postand#8209;incident and postand#8209;release reviews with a focus on learning.
- Ensuring compliance with UKand#8209;GDPR, PCIand#8209;DSS and other relevant UK regulations.
- Keeping customer outcomes at the centre of decisionand#8209;making.
- At least three years' experience leading an engineering team.
- Experience delivering or supporting Eand#8209;commerce systems in a UK online retail environment.
- Strong problemand#8209;solving skills and sound technical judgement.
- Clear, confident communication and effective leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Pragmatic, adaptable and focused on delivering measurable value.
- Comfortable working with autonomy.
- Knowledge in areas such as digital marketing, digital merchandising, search and navigation, taxonomy, content management or digital analytics.
- Experience working with offshore delivery partners.
- Ability to manage conflict and build trust across teams.
- Confidence to challenge established practices constructively.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
