Supply Chain Planning Manager - International Wholesale
Job Description
Supply Chain Planning Manager - International Distributor/Wholesale Environment
Salary: -50,00065,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Kent (Hybrid Working 3 days in the office)
The Context
This is an opportunity to step into a supply chain planning role within a business that has recently undergone significant operational transformation and is now entering a phase of optimisation and performance improvement.
Operating within a complex international supply chain, the organisation sources the majority of its products from the Far East, working with extended lead times of approximately six months and managing a portfolio of around 1,000 SKUs. The planning environment is therefore not about short-cycle reaction-it is about making informed, data-driven decisions today that will impact performance months down the line.
Systems are in place, including ERP and demand planning tools, and the foundations of a more structured planning model have been established. The focus now is on improving accuracy, refining processes, and strengthening decision-making capability across the business.
The Role
You will take responsibility for supply chain planning across the UK and Rest of World, ensuring the right stock is available at the right time while maintaining control of inventory and working capital.
This role sits at the intersection of demand and supply. You will translate forecasts into supply requirements, work closely with commercial teams to understand pipeline activity, and ensure planning decisions reflect both data and real-world context.
You will operate across:
- Demand interpretation and forecast validation
- Inventory planning and stock optimisation
- Alignment with procurement and supply functions
- Identification and resolution of supply risks and imbalances
This is a hands-on planning role requiring both analytical capability and strong stakeholder engagement.
The Challenge
The environment is evolving. Forecasting capability is improving, systems are being better utilised, and processes are being refined.
You will need to:
- Work with imperfect or evolving data sets
- Manage long lead times where decisions have delayed impact
- Balance stock availability with working capital constraints
- Engage with commercial teams to validate and challenge forecasts
- Operate across a high-SKU, mixed demand environment
This is a role for someone who is comfortable working in a developing planning environment rather than a fully mature, structured corporate system.
The Profile
You will be of graduate calibre and highly numerate and analytical
You are currently working in a supply chain, demand planning, or inventory planning role within a complex, product-driven environment.
You are confident working with data and systems, with strong Excel capability and exposure to ERP systems. Experience with tools such as Power BI or SQL would be advantageous but not essential.
You understand forecasting in practical terms-combining data analysis with input from stakeholders-and you are comfortable working across both.
You are able to engage with commercial teams, ask the right questions, and build a realistic picture of demand. You are organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
You are likely operating at Planning Manager level or looking to step into a broader, more impactful planning role.
The Opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to develop within a growing business where supply chain capability is evolving.
You will have exposure to international supply chains, high levels of responsibility, and the chance to influence how planning is executed as systems and processes continue to mature.
For individuals who enjoy problem-solving, working with data, and improving operational performance, this role offers both challenge and progression.
