What you'll be doing
In this busy and exciting role you will support the delivery of all tax compliance, reporting, and advisory activities across the Group, gaining exposure to corporation tax, VAT, employment taxes, customs and duties, and international tax while working closely with the Group Tax Manager, the Head of Tax, and the wider finance team.
Role Accountabilities
andbull; Support preparation of UK corporation tax computations and returns
andbull; Assist with VAT returns, reconciliations, and associated schedules
andbull; Support employment tax submissions including PSA, P11Ds, PAYE, STBV and share schemes
andbull; Maintain tax records, trackers, schedules, and supporting documentation
andbull; Assist with preparation of the Group's Randamp;D tax claims
andbull; Liaise with HMRC regarding payments, allocations, and audits
andbull; Support year-end and interim tax provisioning and related reconciliations
andbull; Contribute to research, advisory queries, and ad hoc tax projects
andbull; Assist with monitoring tax legislation changes and associated impacts
andbull; Support maintenance of tax risk register, internal controls, and governance evidence
What we're looking for
andbull; Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
andbull; Advanced Excel skills and strong IT aptitude
andbull; Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and prioritise effectively
andbull; Clear written and verbal communication skills
andbull; Willingness to learn and develop across all tax areas
andbull; Experience in a finance, tax, or accounting environment (desirable)
andbull; Basic knowledge of UK tax principles such as corporation tax and VAT (desirable)
andbull; Interest in or progression toward a professional qualification (ATT/CTA) (desirable)
andbull; A-level, degree or equivalent experience
andbull; Commitment to ongoing professional development
andbull; A proactive, can-do attitude with curiosity and willingness to learn
andbull; Strong team player with interest in understanding broader business operations
