Workshop Fleet Technician

Vehicle Management Unit - Monday to Friday (days)

We are looking for a qualified and time served HGV Technicianandnbsp;who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.andnbsp;

You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. What cannot be trained however is the right attitude and the desire to give your clients a first class service.andnbsp;

You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet.andnbsp;

You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGV#s) refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers, hook loaders, light commercials (vans), trailers and tippers-andnbsp;andnbsp;

The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)andnbsp;

  • Routine (and preventative) maintenanceandnbsp;

  • MOT preparationandnbsp;

  • Scheduled servicing to DVSA standardsandnbsp;andnbsp;

  • 6 (or 8) weekly inspectionsandnbsp;andnbsp;

  • Correction of running defectsandnbsp;

  • Chassis and fabrication workandnbsp;

  • Hydraulics and pneumaticsandnbsp;

  • Improvement of vehicle standardsandnbsp;

  • Electrical and wiring inspections and correctionsandnbsp;

Ideally you will be fully qualified (City andamp; Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.andnbsp;andnbsp;

Additional accreditations such as IRTEC would be desirable, as would a HGV Class 1 or licence.andnbsp;
